MEDINA COUNTY SAFETY COUNCIL
The Medina County Safety Council, co-sponsored by BWC’s Division of Safety and Hygiene and the Greater Medina Chamber of Commerce, is about education in all areas of safety as it relates to all business in the county and their employees.
FY27 Medina County Safety Council Now Open for Registration

Join the Medina County Safety Council by September 30, 2026.
To qualify for a rebate, employers must earn a minimum of 10 Safety Council credits during the fiscal year. Credits can be earned through the following methods.
1. Safety council meeting attendance
Employers must be enrolled with the safety council whose meeting they are attending to earn meeting credit.
One credit per month may be earned by attending their safety council’s monthly meeting.
2. External training credits
Employers may earn a combined maximum of two credits per fiscal year by attending approved external training sessions from any of the below options.
This includes:
BWC Safety Training Courses (in-person or virtual training course [VTC] only)
One credit per course, with a maximum of two credits.
Safety training courses from external providers (in-person only)
Examples include industry associations, third party administrators, or other sources approved by SCA. See External Training Guide for Sponsors.
One credit per course, with a maximum of two credits.
Annual Ohio Safety Congress & Expo® (OSC®)
One credit may be earned for each day of in-person attendance, with a maximum of two credits per policy number, during the three-day event.
3. BWC on-site safety consultation
Employers may earn two credits for completing one BWC on-site safety consultation visit, limited to once every three fiscal years.
The consultation must be conducted by a BWC Field Safety Consultant, e.g., Industrial Safety Consultant, Industrial Hygienist, and/or Ergonomist, and include a full hazard assessment and a BWC claims review.
Key attendance credit guidelines:
Any representative of the employer qualifies for credit.
A person can represent only one policy number for credit.
Multiple representatives from the same employer attending a meeting, training, or special event count as one credit.
Employer participation in safety seminars, workshops, or conferences hosted or co-hosted by a safety council qualifies for one credit with a certificate.
Monthly meetings do not qualify for credit for employers not enrolled in that safety council.
Membership in the Medina County Safety Council is open to all businesses in the Medina County area, both large and small. It is sponsored by the BWC Division of Safety & Hygiene in cooperation with the Greater Medina Chamber of Commerce.
ALL companies must register to participate in the FY27 BWC Rebate Program. Registration required for new AND past participants.

STEP 1 - Join FY27 Medina County Safety Council
3 Membership Options for FY27 Safety Council Rebate Program
#1. $0 option - Members of the Greater Medina Chamber have their Safety Council Membership Fee Waived (Included with Chamber membership; however, completion of enrollment is still required)
#2. $100 option - Non-Medina Chamber Members' Safety Council Annual Membership Fee
#3. $345 option - Become a Greater Medina Chamber member & your Safety Council Membership Fee is Waived
This does not include the price for the monthly Safety Council meetings. Separate purchase required to attend meetings.
STEP 2 - Attend Monthly Safety Council Meetings
FY27 (July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027)
Any company is welcome to attend any monthly meeting regardless of whether the company is a member of the Safety Council or the Greater Medina Chamber of Commerce.
In-person meetings are held every third Tuesday of the month from July 2026 through June 2027.

Advanced registration and payment are required by 5:00 pm the Friday before the meeting.
No walk-in registrations on event day.
Pre-payment and pre-registration are required for all monthly Safety Council meetings. No shows will be billed.
